The RON Pendant: Where Craft Meets Innovation

The RON pendant masterfully unites the artisanal beauty of bamboo with the gentle glow of a paper shade, creating a luminous sculpture that transforms any space.

What makes RON truly special is its versatile design – simply flip the paper shade upside down to completely reinvent the lamp’s character and lighting effect.

While traditional paper lamps use bamboo or wire frames, RON innovates with a unique construction: the Japanese washi paper is carefully wrapped around a PET resin core bonded with starchy glue. This thoughtful combination allows light to shine through beautifully while minimizing harsh shadows from the paper itself.

The result is a contemporary lighting piece that honors Japanese craftsmanship while pushing boundaries – a perfect balance of tradition and modernity for design enthusiasts who appreciate both heritage and innovation.

The Japanese paper shade is made by the craftsmanship of Mito, which is one of Japan’s three largest lanterns makers. The paper is treated with coating to prevent from water and stains.

The top and bottom part is handmade of bamboo and will over time get the traditional sought for amber hue colour. When used in a room with high ventilation or with lots of sunlight the amber colour will appear sooner. White textile cord, length 3 m and light source is an incandescent E27 60W bulb or equivalent LED.
